South Georgia Council for Youth in the Performing Arts is a not-for-profit organization whose vision is to provide opportunity, through education and performance, which nurtures potential in the performing arts.
South Georgia Council for Youth in the Performing Arts (SGC Youth Arts) announces it's Summer 2012 workshop - Curtain Call- a musical theater workshop!
Curtain Call is scheduled for the week of July 16-20 at the First Christian Church 1905 N. Patterson Street; Valdosta, GA in the Tillman Center from 1:30-4:00 p.m. This intensive workshop is geared for rising ninth graders and up. The total cost of the workhop is $30 with a $15 registration fee due by July 6. The fee may be paid online using PayPal page. Please email with questions - sgcyoutharts@gmail.com.
A performance is scheduled for Friday July 20 at 7:30 in the social hall of the First Christian Church. Come and see the performance.
Our most recent production during Spring 2012 was Taste of Billboard - a concert of Top 40s favorites from the 60s and beyond! It was performed at First Christian Church of Valdosta on April 19.
Our previous production during Fall 2011 was A Holiday to Remember - a musical review of holiday favorites featuring ensemble numbers, solos, duets. It was performed at First Christian Church of Valdosta during December 2011.
Prior productions include a Spring 2011 cabaret titled A Taste of Broadway, as well as a Fall 2010 production of The Boy Friend - a hilarious spoof of a 1920s musical comedy. In Spring 2010 SGC Youth Arts finished our first production - Honk! - a musical re-imagining of "The Ugly Duckling."

During the school year our rehearsal schedule usually includes a couple of weekends as well as occasional Tuesday evening rehearsals. Weekend rehearsal times may include Friday afternoon, all day Saturday (with lunch break), and Sunday afternoon. Our productions are workshop style production swhere we strive to keep a minimal rehearsal schedule - perfect for those who love to perform, but are just too busy! Come and be a part of our productions.
